Can women use men's ROGAINE®?

The men’s ROGAINE® twice-daily formulas have been FDA approved as an effective treatment for hair loss in men, while the women’s ROGAINE® once-daily formulas have been specifically formulated and FDA approved for hair loss in women. To avoid unwanted side effects such as unwanted hair growth, ROGAINE® should be used by both men and women as directed.

What happens when you stop using ROGAINE®?

If you stop ROGAINE®, the normal hair loss process will start again. You will probably lose your newly regrown hair within 3 to 4 months and will look the way you looked before using ROGAINE® products, so you'll want to make ROGAINE® products part of your daily routine.

How often should you wash your hair while using minoxidil?

How often you shampoo will come down to personal preference, but you may prefer to wash your hair more frequently when using ROGAINE®. Minoxidil can cause a buildup on the hair and scalp, and shampooing daily or every second day can help keep your hair feeling fresh and clean.

Do you put ROGAINE® on wet or dry hair?

While the people in our clinical studies were asked to apply ROGAINE® products to dry hair, we know that’s not always possible. We suggest that you at least towel-dry your hair before applying ROGAINE® products so that your hair is no longer dripping.To avoid washing off ROGAINE® products, you should try to not let your scalp get wet from the rain. However, if you go swimming or out in the rain, make sure to reapply ROGAINE® products once your scalp is dry.

What happens if you miss a dose of ROGAINE®?

If you miss 1 or 2 doses of a ROGAINE® product, just continue with your next regular dose. We do not recommend that you try to make up for missed doses, and 1 or 2 days of not using ROGAINE®will not affect your long-term hair regrowth as long as you resume regular use.

To apply ROGAINE^® Foam for Men:

Start with dry or damp, towel-dried hair (not dripping).
Part your hair in a few rows to maximize scalp exposure.
Hold the can upside down and dispense half a capful of foam onto clean, dry hands.
Gently massage the foam into your scalp with your fingers, paying extra attention to areas that are thinning.
Allow the foam to dry completely before blow-drying or styling your hair.
Repeat twice a day as directed for the best results.

ROGAINE^® Foam for Women, 5% Minoxidil Unscented Foam

To apply ROGAINE^® Foam for Women:

Start with dry or damp, towel-dried hair (not dripping).

When to Expect Results

You’ll begin to see results in 3-6 months, and make sure you keep applying ROGAINE^® minoxidil products in order to continue your hair regrowth. Like many good things, patience and perseverance are the key to success using ROGAINE^® minoxidil products.

Style As Usual

You may follow your normal hair care routine when using ROGAINE^® minoxidil products, however you should apply ROGAINE^® product first and wait for it to dry before applying your styling products. If blow-drying your hair, we recommend using your dryer at a lower setting.

If your scalp is dry and flaky, we recommend the use of a mild, gentle shampoo. Topical medications are not recommended while using ROGAINE^® minoxidil products. If the condition persists and it is bothersome, discontinue use and consult your doctor.

Safe For Color-Treated Hair

ROGAINE^®is safe to use on color treated or chemically treated hair, just remember to skip using on the day you have a chemical treatment.
